Why is sowing with children so much fun?
Children are naturally curious and love to go on adventures to discover new things. How special is it to watch together as a seed slowly grows into a plant — and maybe even into a tasty strawberry or a colorful flower? In this way, children learn through play where their food comes from and how a tiny seed can turn into a beautiful daisy.
What is easy to sow and grow?
SeeddeeS® offers a wide variety of products. To get started easily, you could choose from the following SeeddeeS® seeds/products:
- Garden cress: grows easily and is often visible within a week. Delicious on a sandwich or in a salad.
- Daisy: easy to grow and attractive to bees and butterflies because it is a native plant. If you later plant it in the garden, you will welcome many beautiful butterflies.
- Parsley: an easy herb that germinates quickly. If you want to transplant parsley outdoors later, choose a semi-shaded spot. Parsley can be used in so many dishes.
- Poppy: known for its simple care. It needs little water, but of course, don’t forget to give it some love. Did you know that poppies close their flowers when it starts to rain?
- Mint: also easy to grow, although it takes a little longer to germinate. So give it some time. You can do so many fun things with mint — how about making your own iced tea?Add: 1 liter of water, slices of orange, slices of lime, a cinnamon stick and 3 to 4 sprigs of mint + ice cubes. And voilà: a wonderfully refreshing iced tea made with your own home-grown mint!
