Spring has officially begun. It’s definitely SeeddeeS®’s favourite season – what about yours? Everything is coming out of hibernation, the dark days are gone, and colour and new life are everywhere! At last, the seeds planted by SeeddeeS® are slowly coming into bloom. Don’t worry, you can still start sowing the seeds now; it’s certainly not too late.

New products from SeeddeeS®
SeeddeeS® is always on the go, and we’ve added some lovely new products to our range. The tea box and the herb box – great fun to try out with your kids! Easily grow your own herbs for the kitchen or your own tea herbs and make your own tea!

Tea box:
The tea box contains lavender, lemon balm and chamomile. It’s lovely, of course, but how do you actually make tea from these once your plants are fully grown? Making your own tea from your own herbs isn’t complicated at all. With lavender, chamomile and lemon balm, you can easily create a soothing and refreshing blend. Follow the steps below:
1- Harvesting:
Pick your herbs on a dry, warm morning:
- Lavender: newly opened flowers
- Chamomile: fully open flowers
- Lemon balm: young, fresh leaves
2- Drying:
Leave everything to dry in a warm, dark place with good ventilation (allow at least 2 weeks for drying). When is it dry enough? When it feels crumbly and dry to the touch.
3- Storing:
Store the dried herbs in sealed jars, in a dark, dry place.
Proportions for the tea bag:
2 teaspoons of chamomile, 2 teaspoons of lemon balm and ½ teaspoon of lavender (not too much, as lavender can quickly overpower the other flavours).
Herb Box
The herb box contains the following herbs:
- Basil
- Chives
- Mint
These herbs can be used in so many dishes, but also, for example, to keep mosquitoes away, did you know that mint is good for this?
You can easily make basil pesto with your home-grown basil. For this, you will need the following ingredients:
- 1 generous handful of basil
- 30g Parmesan cheese
- 1 clove of garlic
- 3 tablespoons of pine nuts
- 4 to 6 tablespoons of olive oil
- Salt and a little pepper
Chives, meanwhile, can be used for absolutely anything; they’re at their best in egg dishes or in homemade herb butter.
Extra tip from SeeddeeS®: paint the wooden box in a spring theme and decorate it however you like, make it your very own tea box or herb box!
Spring is the beginning of everything, one big celebration! Enjoy it.
Love, SeeddeeS®
